Legoland Florida Announces "Chima" Expansion

Today, Legoland Florida announced a major expansion for its Winter Haven location, the largest of its five Lego-based theme parks.

Legoland Florida's newest attraction will revolve around an interactive water ride called the Quest for Chi.  It's based on Lego's "The Legends of Chima," a show set to launch this summer on Cartoon Network.

Guests will also be able to meet the Chima characters, participate in a Lego-building challenge and watch a 4D movie.

This is the Winter Haven park's third expansion since it opened in October 2011. Legoland General Manager Adrian Jones says the expansion has created jobs for Central Florida residents.

"There's been about a hundred and odd people working on site, and then we'll probably hire about 50 people, additional MCs on park to actually run the attractions within it."

Quest for Chi is scheduled to open in July.
