Busch Gardens' Falcon's Fury is finally open. After testing that took months, the tallest free-standing drop tower in North America is now giving people the chance to fall face-down towards the ground at 60 miles per hour.
Falcon's Fury is the main attraction of Pantopia - the new area of the theme park that opened in April.
“Pantopia is all about doors and keys and you’ll never know where the next door is going to lead,” Busch Garden's spokesman Travis Claytor said at the time of Pantopia's opening.
Although the ride has been open for a little while in what park officials call a "soft open," North America’s tallest freestanding drop tower officially opens today.
“We know guests from around the world have been waiting to experience this one-of-a-kind thrill ride, and we are excited to officially invite those guests to ride Falcon’s Fury,” said park President Jim Dean.

Falcon’s Fury stands at 335 feet and takes riders soaring 60 mph straight down. At the ride’s highest point Busch Gardens has added an element of surprise - riders pivot 90 degrees in midair to a face-down dive position. Then, they take the plunge.
