Scott MacIntyre says his blindness has given him a platform to reach out to and inspire many more people than he could have imagined---millions even.
The American Idol finalist is in Tampa tonight to perform a benefit concert for VSA Florida at the University of South Florida. MacIntyre says VSA Arts is one of his favorite organizations he's ever worked with.
He calls it an amazing organization that does a lot of work with people who want to be in music and the arts. Music, MacIntyre said was something he had when he couldn't play sports, drive a car or even see a girl smiling at him. "I had music to pour my emotions into and to tell my story with, and VSA does an incredible job of giving that same tool, that same gift of music to others like me," he said.
And he says he hopes when people see him perform that "people will realize that there's no obstacle too great that you can't overcome if you walk by faith."
MacIntyre's concert is tonight (10/18) in the Oval Theatre at USF Tampa's Marshall Center at 8 p.m.
