TIA Reports Weather Delays

Bay News 9

As if today being the busiest travel day of the yearwasn't enough, bad weather around the country is leading to flight delays at Tampa International Airport.

According to information sent out by TIA officials, as of 10:30 a.m., 86 flights were delayed by an average of 75 to 80 minutes. The flights, a mix of departures and arrivals, are mainly between Tampa and cities in the Northeast and the South that are experiencing inclement weather.

TIA officials warn that delays are expected to increase as the day continues, so they're asking travelers to check with their airline before coming to the airport.

If there's any good news, it's that there are no cancellations reported at Tampa Intenational at this time.
