Yesterday morning, there was a shooting at Florida State University in their library that left three injured and the shooter dead, the event sent shivers down the spine of students across the country.
After an event like a school shooting, students nationwide take notice and USF Senior Michelle Reyes says the FSU shooting is another reminder that you can never be too safe.
"I mean, it's pretty scary that someone can just come on campus at any time and do whatever they want essentially if they want to act upon violence, and it is scary," Reyes said. "I know yesterday I was supposed to come to the library, I honestly didn't come because it shook me up a little bit."
All USF campuses have a text alert service for their students in the event of ongoing emergencies on campus to help keep students safe.
