WLRN

This week on Florida Matters we're hosting another edition of our monthly news roundtable. We'll talk with a panel of journalists about some of the latest news stories impacting our state including last week's shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 people dead.

In this preview, host Robin Susssingham talks with Zac Anderson, political editor at the Sarasota Herald Tribune and Jessica Bakeman, reporter with WLRN in Miami.

Bakeman has been covering the aftermath of the shooting in South Florida and says the mood among some survivors is beginning to change.

I’m the editor for Your Florida, a project focused on connecting people with state government and policies passed in Tallahassee that affect their lives. I’m passionate about highlighting community efforts to improve the quality of life in our state and am committed to holding those in power accountable when they fail to prioritize the needs of people they serve.
Robin Sussingham was Senior Editor at WUSF until September 2020.
Steve Newborn is a WUSF reporter and producer at WUSF covering environmental issues and politics in the Tampa Bay area.
