Medical marijuana is becoming increasingly available in Florida despite ongoing court battles over state regulations for the young industry. We're talking with people who work in the business this week on Florida Matters.

In this preview, host Robin Sussingham talks with guests from two of the 13 companies licensed to grow and sell medical marijuana in the state: Darrin Potter, Chief Horticulture Officer with GrowHealthy and Kim Rivers, CEO of Trulieve.

Trulieve is suing the state to lift a cap that limits the amount of dispensaries a company can open to 25.

I’m the editor for Your Florida, a project focused on connecting people with state government and policies passed in Tallahassee that affect their lives. I’m passionate about highlighting community efforts to improve the quality of life in our state and am committed to holding those in power accountable when they fail to prioritize the needs of people they serve.
Robin Sussingham was Senior Editor at WUSF until September 2020.
