Cortnee Brantley Attorney Moves To Limit Evidence Before Jurors

She became known as the girlfriend of Dontae Morris -- the man accused of gunning down Tampa Police Officers Dave Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab in June 2010.

Now, Cortnee Brantley will go to trial on federal charges that she knew Morris was a felon in possession of a gun and did not report it.

Police say Brantley was driving the car when the shooting took place. Curtis and Kocab conducted what appeared to be a routine traffic stop, which ended with the two officers dying by the side of the road.

Brantley's attorney Grady Irvin wants to limit what jurors will hear in her trial.  He doesn't want jurors to see the dashcam video of Officers Curtis and Kocab being shot,  or pictures of the officers after they died,  according to the Tampa Tribune.

"Any photographs of the officers lying on the ground are not relevant, as they do not prove or disprove a material fact of the crime for which Ms. Brantley is charged," Irvin wrote, noting that Brantley is not charged with murder.

Brantley's federal trial begins next month.
