Four people were arrested during protests Monday night in downtown St. Petersburg.
Police say about 150 demonstrators took part in peaceful protests before gathering off and on in front of the police department, according to a news release.
Police learned a red SUV there had stockpiled items that could be used as projectiles. Officers found items including a gas canister, glass bottles, bricks, and a bag of large rocks.
Three were arrested -- Lady Nicole Nash, 19, of Largo; Eddie Bryant, 18, of St. Petersburg; and Javonta Cloud, 18, of Clearwater. Charges are pending, police said.
Protesters later drove through barricades set up to keep traffic off First Avenue North, police said. Police warned those protesters to leave the area, then discharged smoke bombs to disperse the group.
Another man, 19-year-old Anthony Thomas Koedel of Tampa, was arrested for inciting a riot, police said.
