Slideshow: Weekend Events Pump Up Fans For Championship Game

Thousands of college football fans gathered in Tampa and surrounding cities for a weekend packed with events meant to pump them up for the College Football National Championship game.

On Saturday, the chilly weather didn't stop visitors and locals from flocking to game-related events in downtown Tampa, including Day 2 of the outdoor concert series AT&T Playoff Playlist Live at Curtis Hixon Park. The park would go on to reach capacity Sunday for the final concert, headlined by Usher.

On Sunday afternoon, Clearwater Beach was packed with fans watching the Clemson and Alabama bands perform, as well as a celebrity flag football game and live music.

As WUSF’s multimedia reporter, I produce photos, videos, audiograms, social media content and more to complement our on-air and digital news coverage. It's more important than ever to meet people where they're at.
I’m the editor for Your Florida, a project focused on connecting people with state government and policies passed in Tallahassee that affect their lives. I’m passionate about highlighting community efforts to improve the quality of life in our state and am committed to holding those in power accountable when they fail to prioritize the needs of people they serve.
