Gov. Scott Bashes Charlie Crist on Tuition

Sitting in a circle with five current high school students and their parents, Gov. Rick Scott talked about the cost of college and the importance of keeping tuition low.

Scott stopped by Jefferson High School in Tampa on Wednesday to talk with students about college tuition and took the opportunity to bash his opponent, Charlie Crist.

"We've got to reduce the tuition increases that Charlie Crist created back when he was governor, we have to un-do that wrong," he said.

Scott has been accused of using official events for his re-election campaign. When asked if the day's events would appear in a TV campaign ad, Governor Scott ignored the question and said he was here to listen to the students' stories.

"Stop and think about it, we want education to be accessible. It's not accessible if it's not affordable. So we have to do both."

Scott also recently supported a bill going through the legislature granting in-state tuition for undocumented students.
