Hillary Clinton Takes On Trump's Economics In St. Petersburg

Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton took to the stage of the Coliseum in St. Petersburg Monday afternoon where she bashed rival Donald Trump's economic plan and promoted her own.

Clinton took a populist approach, telling several thousand people that she would not levy any more taxes on the middle class. She called  Trump's recently announced economic package as "voodoo economics" and "trickle-down economics," trying to connect him to Republican plans from the 1980's.

"It does not help the vast majority of Americans, but it does really well for people at the top," she said. "Well, we're going to turn that upside down. We're going to make sure the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes for a change."

Clinton says her plan would create tens of millions of new jobs, and 650,00 new jobs in Florida. Clinton also appealed to Bernie Sanders supporters, saying Trump's plan would only help the top 1 percent of the population.

This was Clinton's third appearance recently in the Tampa Bay area, highlighting the area's importance in winning Florida. She traveled to Kissimmee Monday after the rally, and will be visiting Miami on Tuesday.
