For a century, the glass bottom boat tours at Wakulla Springs celebrated Florida’s seemingly endless depths of clean, clear water. With the water too murky to see through the glass, the boats are no longer running regularly — a symbol of the pollution plaguing the state’s freshwater and the cascade of consequences to come.

It seeks to rectify a lack of financial literacy in the state, as well as prepare students for the difficult economic challenges in the future.

On April 15, 1971, a group of Black students marched to Tigert Hall with six demands in hand. Then-UF President Stephen C. O'Connell threatened to suspend them all unless they vacated the premises immediately, and the students ended up in jail.
