Federal aviation regulators have called for investigations into Boeing 777 jets equipped with certain Pratt & Whitney 4000 engines.

The Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737-800 crashed shortly after takeoff on Wednesday. Iranian officials said the likely cause was mechanical problems.

All 136 passengers and seven flight crew members on board are accounted for, officials say.
