Everglades oil drilling

The company is appealing the ruling that no oil is likely to be found in an area that is critical for the endangered Florida panther.

The Department of Environmental Protection in November denied a permit that Trend Exploration sought to drill an exploratory well to seek oil reserves.

The oil well would be build in the heart of one of the state's biggest agricultural areas.
