Fort Bragg

A federal commission is soliciting ideas to rename Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, Fort Rucker, Fort Lee, and several other military posts named for Confederate officers.

The $325 million dollar plan is funded by private companies and is expected to result in renovations to 16,000 homes on seven Army posts.

Thousands of military families are suffering from shoddy work or ignored calls for repairs from the private companies that maintain military housing. One senator called the negligence "criminal."
