Sarasota Art Museum

Karim Manning, 39, teaches beatboxing, lyricism and digital music at schools around the Tampa Bay area. He shows kids how to use their own voice to make beats, with some history lessons along the way.

Opening Nov. 17 at Sarasota Art Museum is an exhibition titled “Contemplating Vermeer.” Artist Joe Fig created 16 new paintings that pays homage to the 17th century painter and an international exhibit that featured Vermeer's work.
