The Orange Belt Trail would run from the Trinity area in the south, north toward the Trilby region near Hernando County.

It includes the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Suncoast Parkway, and Veterans Expressway.

The bill means there will be no new toll road linking Collier and Polk counties. It does, however, require that the Florida Department of Transportation draw up plans to extend U.S. 19 from the Suncoast Parkway to Interstate 10 in Madison County.

The approved bill would eliminate the road between Collier and Polk counties while laying out a route that would weave the Suncoast Parkway north along U.S. 19 to connect with Interstate 10 in Madison County.
