Organizers report more than 300,000 people attended St. Pete Pride's culminating events. After the Trans March, the throng lined Bayshore Drive along the downtown waterfront for the parade.
Weeks of Pride Month events around the Tampa Bay region culminated in what's often touted as the largest pride parade in the southeast — the St. Pete Pride Parade.
Organizers report that more than 300,000 people flocked to downtown Saturday for an all-day festival, a march, and the parade.
Preceding the main event was the largest ever Trans March. Not only did many locals participate, but the march teamed up with over two dozen organizations, even bussing in folks from Orlando and South Florida.
They walked from Vinoy Park down the waterfront and toward the start of the main parade chanting slogans like "There is no 'We' without the 'T'!' and " Trans rights are human rights!"
