Hernando voters reelect Ingoglia to state Senate, Bilirakis to Congress

State Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, who first won the seat in 2022, is a former chair of the Republican Party of Florida. Meantime, U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis earned another term in the U.S. House.

Spring Hill incumbent Blaise Ingoglia won reelection to the state Senate on Tuesday.

The Republican will keep his seat in state Senate District 11 after defeating Democrat Marilyn Holleran by more than 35%.

The district consists of Citrus, Hernando and Sumter counties and part of Pasco county.

Ingoglia, who first won the seat in 2022, is a former chair of the Republican Party of Florida from 2015 to 2019.

Meantime, Republican Rep. Gus Bilirakis won reelection to his U.S. House seat in the 12th congressional district, defeating Democrat Rock Aboujaoude.

Bilirakis  earned 71% of the votes,

The 12th district entails Hernando and Citrus counties and part of Pasco.

Bilirakis has served in the House since 2007. Prior to that, he was a member of the Florida House and worked in private practice as a lawyer.
