USF St. Pete Students Skip Spring Break For Business Boot Camp

For some students at University of South Florida St Petersburg, there’s no such thing as taking a break.

Twenty students are currently participating in the Ex Labs business boot camp instead of relaxing over the school’s spring holiday.

During the session, participants are divided into teams and presented with real world challenges that they would face as technology professionals.

Ex Labs program leader Pat Gehant says that the competition draws student contestants from a variety of majors.

“When we say ‘tech industry,’ all companies have a tech side to them. All companies are looking at new technologies to make them more competitive,” said Gehant.

Ex Labs has partnered with Tech Data to create the scenarios. The winning team will receive a $2,300 training package from Cisco.

This event is the first of two sessions this year, the second will be held in June.

Applications for the summer program are currently available for all USFSP students.
