Two games have been added to Florida State University’s football schedule after three games were canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
The Seminoles will conclude their season at home against Duke on Dec. 12 and travel to Wake Forest on Dec. 19.
One of the cancellations included a game this Saturday at Duke, so that new matchup is essentionally a makeup contest. The others were against Virginia and Clemson.
“I guess that’s the thing that I was most pleased of is that starting Sunday all focus goes to our continued improvement and then focus on game-planning for Duke," said FSU coach Mke Norvell. "It’s definitely a joy to know that those guys are going to get at least one more opportunity there out on the field at Doak and we’re just excited about it.”
“We appreciate the hard work the ACC and our television partners have put in to re-format a schedule that tries to address a myriad of needs shared by all our football programs, Athletic Director David Coburn said. "All teams in the league have made sacrifices and adjustments for the overall good of the conference.
“I know our coaches and football team are happy that they can play two conference games. We are pleased to be hosting Duke in Doak Campbell Stadium, and we appreciate the opportunity to play Wake Forest on December 19. We understand the impact of one less home game, and we will be in touch with ticketholders soon regarding ticket options.”
