Citrus Memorial Health System, a not-for-profit community hospital, is now part of HCA West Florida. Citrus Memorial has a 50-year lease with HCA, which went into effect Nov. 1, according to a news release. The addition of Citrus Memorial brings HCA’s hospital total to 17; it’s the largest for-profit health care system in Florida.  The addition of Citrus Memorial comes less than two months after HCA announced that it would close a hospital in the Tampa Bay area, 38-year-old Edward White Hospital in St. Petersburg.
