The early demise of the legislative session is good news for portable partying. A Senate plan to ban powdered alcohol is dead after causing a stir in the House.
Senate dean Gwen Margolis, a Democrat from Miami, wanted the ban before “Palcohol” hits the shelves this summer. Not going to happen. Margolis is taking the long view.
“It’ll be alright. Nothing will come to an end because of it.”
Palcohol creator Mark Williams spoke with House sponsor Bryan Avila, a Republican from Hialeah. Avila’s bill set a threshold for the ban at any powder with 75 percent alcohol or greater. Palcohol weighs in at just 10 percent.
