Secretary of State Ken Detzner pleaded with lawmakers not to add another headache to an ongoing overhaul of his computer systems.
He also warned about a computer meltdown during the next presidential election. But he might as wellhave been waving his boss’s veto pen.
“There’s a flashing yellow light with regard to planning and implementation and that’s why I’m taking this position today.”
Senator Jeff Clemens, a Lake Worth Democrat, said his bill allows Detzner plenty of time to finally give the state’s election supervisors what they’ve wanted for years .
