Veterans Sale Tax Holiday Moving In House

Florida lawmakers have another way to honor military members on Veterans Day. A bill from Rep. Mel Ponder (R-Fort Walton) would offer them a sales tax break.

“I kept it simple. It’s articles of clothing of $60 or less.  There’s a few exceptions there. There’s also some footwear with a few exceptions there as well,” Ponder says.

Ponder’s bill passed through the House Local, Federal and Veterans Affairs Committee Wednesday. It moves next the House Ways and Means Committee.
