The House Judiciary committee is advancing a bill regarding redistricting. It adds restrictions on voting districts and when people can challenge them. Seminole Republican Representative Larry Ahern says the bill defines a year of apportionment is—the second year following the census.

"And so that there’s no extending it to 15, beyond that second year. And if it is in fact challenged, it just lays out when those things will be date certain," Ahern said.

The bill was passed without debate, and will be voted on by the Rules & Policy Committee next.
