Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine is launching a statewide bus tour.  The trip could set the stage for a rumored gubernatorial bid.

Mayor Levine is unveiling a five part audio documentary called a day in the sun and he’s touring the state to promote it.  But the trip has all the hallmarks of the typical “getting to know you” tour ambitious politicians take before launching a statewide bid.

The Miami Beach mayor is well known in political circles and in South Florida, but the 55 year old Democrat likely needs more name recognition in the rest of the state.

If Levine chooses to join the race he’ll face a crowded primary—with former Congresswoman Gwen Graham, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and Orlando developer Chris King already in the race.  That’s not to mention personal injury lawyer John Morgan considering a bid of his own.
