State Representative Ross Spano is the latest Republican to enter the 2018 race for Florida Attorney General.

Since 2012, Spano—a lawyer from Dover—has served in the Florida House. One of his passions is combatting human trafficking—similar to Florida’s current Attorney General Pam Bondi. Having heard some disturbing stories, Spano has sponsored several legislative efforts to help victims.

“I heard just recently about a young lady who has placed in over 100 different homes, and she needed 24-7 care,” he said, during a House committee Thursday.

Other Republican lawmakers in the race include Representatives Jay Fant of Jacksonville and Frank White of Pensacola. Former Judge Ashley Moody, also a contender, has received many endorsements, including the backing of Attorney General Bondi.
