Sen Approps Chair Wants To Refine Environmental Spending

New Senate appropriations chairman Rob Bradley wants more of the land acquisition trust fund going to land purchasing and management.

The land acquisition trust fund or LATF’s more than $800 million budget includes at least $25 million in administrative costs.  Sen. Rob Bradley (R- Fleming Island) doesn’t want to see that taking away from environmental spending.

“The Senate’s goal is to clear out the administrative expenses from the LATF,” Bradley says, “and that is something that was a goal last year of mine when I was the subcommittee chair and it continues to be a goal of the Senate.”

A handful of Senate measures place claims on LATF dollars.  So much so that without significant changes to the base budget, the fund would be deep in the red if all of them pass as written.
