State Wipes Inspections Of Troubled Nursing Homes From Its Website

Just under three months ago, Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration took nursing home inspections off its website, according to the  Miami Herald.

The inspections helped some families determine where their loved ones should reside during their final years.

Members of the public can still obtain the documents from the Agency for Health Care Administration, but they will have to know what to ask for and whom to ask. And they may have to pay and wait, the Herald reports.

Online, AHCA now refers consumers to a separate website managed by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, though that site does not include as much material as the state previously provided, according to the Herald.

For several years, AHCA’s website included links to inspections of nursing homes, retirement homes and hospitals.
