Job Growth in Florida holds steady, according to The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. Today the Agency released its unemployment report for the month of June, and the numbers indicate positive growth.
The state added 9,000 jobs in June, according to today's unemployment report. This is the 23rd consecutive month of job growth in the state. DEO chief economist Rebecca Rust says most employees gained jobs in four major fields.
"Healthcare or IT, retail sales or administrative support is were almost all the top jobs are," says Rust. "But when you look at one occupation at the very top its registered nurses."
Rust adds the private sector has added almost 130-thousand jobs since December of 2010. Metro areas like Tampa/ St. Pete, Miami and Orlando saw the largest increase in the amount of jobs.
