Grand Reopening Draws Crowd for Free Chick-Fil-a for a Year

Nathan Powell

The Chick-fil-A on Fowler by the USF Tampa campus is having its grand reopening Thursday morning.

This means people are already camped out in the Chick-fil-A parking lot for their chance to win one of 100 "Chick-fil-A for a year" prizes which will be given to the first 100 customers tomorrow morning.

This afternoon the Chick-fil-A parking lot was filled with eager customers waiting for their chance to win free Chick-fil-A for a year.

But this wasn't the first rodeo for some of them, Richard Coley from St. Petersburg says he has been to 110 Chick-fil-A openings spanning 26 states over the last 7 years.

“I love Chick-fil-A and it's not just the food that I'm in love with,” Coley said. “I'm in love with the whole Chick-fil-A package, the people, the products, the corporate office and their founding purposes and the things that they stand for.”

As of Wednesday afternoon there were 56 people in the Chick Fila parking lot waiting to be one of the first 100 customers.

Tonight there will be a DJ in the parking lot to entertain faithful customers.

The opening will be at 6 am tomorrow morning.
