If the Toronto Blue Jays decide to no longer use Dunedin as their spring training home, a replacement team may already be waiting in the wings.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports the Milwaukee Brewers can opt out of their lease in Arizona after the 2015 season.
And with the Blue Jays' spring training contract with Dunedin up in 2017 and the team considering moving to a joint Palm Beach Gardens training site with the Houston Astros, Dunedin Mayor Dave Eggers is beginning to contact other teams about filling the void.
Brewers executive vice president Bob Quinn says they're reviewing all of their options and haven't ruled anything out at this point. While Phoenix officials point out the city just invested $1.5 million in improvements to the Maryvale Baseball Park the Brewers play in, the team does have an "opt-out" clause in their contract.
