Marketplace’s Kai Ryssdal is coming to St. Petersburg to tackle your toughest financial questions.
The host and senior editor of Marketplace will be visiting the Poynter Institute at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for an event called "An Evening with Kai Ryssdal," where he will be answering the crowd's questions about the economy.
The topic for Thursday’s evening is the economic mood of the U.S.
During the show, Ryssdal answers a full spectrum of financial questions and explains the shifting economy. Diving into issues like stocks and healthcare premiums has prepared him to hear from local residents.
WUSF’s Carson Cooper interviewed Ryssdal to get some of his views.
Ryssdall said that he sees the future of economic conversations focusing on the lasting effects of Trump’s possible tax overhaul and growing income inequality.
When talking about where he reads the pulse of the economy, Ryssdal looks at the "ordinary people," saying, “If people are not feeling it in their own economy, in their economic day-to-day, then it just doesn’t matter.”
Tickets for the event are available on Poynter’s website.
You can listen to Ryssdal on Marketplace weekdays on WUSF 89.7 at 6 p.m.
