Southeastern Grocers announced plans to close 94 stores, including 10 Winn-Dixie stores in the Tampa Bay area.
The Jacksonville-based company plans to file bankruptcy, which will allow it to continue operating 582 stores while it restructures its debt.
“The agreement we announced today is an important step in Southeastern Grocers’ transformation to put our company in the best position to succeed in the extremely competitive retail market in which we do business,” said Anthony Hucker, President and CEO of Southeastern Grocers.
The company also operates BI-LO, Fresco y Mas and Harveys Supermarket.
