Last year, Tampa bested Miami in the Cuban Sandwich War. And this weekend, the Cigar City attempted to claim victory over South Florida in another culinary category: longest parade of food trucks.
Miami currently holds the record at 62 trucks, and while the official count wasn't available at the time of this writing, it's safe to say Tampa smashed that record.
On Saturday morning, the trucks rallied in downtown Tampa's Tempo District before setting up for the day at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Despite the heat, co-organizer Candy Gomez estimated that 10,000 hungry folks turned out to sample the food truck fare. Here are a few photos from the event. We'll bring you more in an upcoming episode of Florida Matters.
