Tampa Bay Rays Sell Out Likely at the Trop?

The Tampa Bay Rays are currently in the thick of postseason play with their division rival Boston Red Sox in the American League Division Series. They will play Game 3 at Tropicana Field on Monday. The question is: Just how sizable will the crowd be? Rays fans are split on the topic. Phil Xanthoudakis says the Rays will sell out.

"I'm pretty sure it'll be a sell out," he said. "I doubt Rays fans won't show up for that game, especially against Boston."

Xanthoudakis adds that it only makes sense to show up to the game. He's been a Rays fan since the team was founded.

Sheridan Marr says she hopes for a sellout.

"Let's hope so," she said. "My goodness, they deserve that kind of backing. It's unbelievable how nobody's there. Maybe they're used to that, and maybe that's the way they play well. I mean, it is what it is. But it couldn't be too motivating, so let's hope they pack the stadium for them. They deserve it."

Marr continues to hone her knowledge of baseball. It was because of the Rays' six consecutive winning seasons that she became an avid baseball fan.

Jillian Howard says there will be no sellout.

"No," she said. "And it's not because there aren't fans out there, but, I think, it is the commute. People aren't excited about having to sit on that bridge and sit in downtown St. Pete to actually go to the stadium. If we can watch it on TV, in the comfort of our own homes, we're going to do that."

Howard says she is an ardent Rays fan and plans to go to the game.
