StoryCorps Tampa Bay: Persistence + Friendship = Recovery

StoryCorps

Tawny Swain Castle was a social worker in St. Pete, working with the homeless population, when an undiagnosable disability which resembled Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) left her homeless, too.

Returning to a life of normalcy for Tawny meant more than learning to function physically, it meant learning how to relate to people in her new state of mind.

On this week's installment of StoryCorps Tampa Bay, Tawny speaks to her friend Marilyn Shultz about her recovery.

Music:
“Ghost Crabs,” by Rob Simonsen, from The Way Way Back (Original Soundtrack)
