Shelterbox Prepares To Help For Typhoon Aftermath

en.wikipedia.org

Super Typhoon Hagupit is forecast to hit the Philippines this weekend, and a Sarasota disaster relief organization, ShelterBox, is preparing to help in the aftermath.

ShelterBox provides shelter and other supplies in the aftermath of natural disasters.

This will be the second Super Typhoon to hit the Philippines in 13 months, and Emily Sperling, President of ShelterBox USA says they will be providing essential relief after the storm.

"The Philippines comes with its own challenges, it was just really in the midst of recovering from a super typhoon that occurred last November, rebuilding has been occurring," Sperling said. "But construction is not yet complete."

Shelterbox provides relief to an average of 30 areas hit by natural disasters around the world each year.
