Tampa Bay Times Food Critic Laura Reiley has been dining out a lot in the past couple of weeks. So now she's living on coffee after consuming "thousands of extra calories" in pursuit of the best restaurants in the Tampa Bay area.
The result is her list of the Top 50.
The top ten list includes Mise en Place, Ulele, Il Ritorno and Ava.
Reiley said, "We have a critical mass of talent all of a sudden that begets more. More young chefs are coming here to work under a growing body of talent" She said not having a culinary school around here has always hampered the region. However, she said the "farm-to-table menu rhetoric" is becoming more of a reality.
She said it's the "one of the best years, at least in the past decade for diners in the Tampa Bay area who want to try something new."
