St. Pete Pride, the annual LGBT celebration in downtown St. Petersburg is here for it's 13th year and organizers expect a $15-20 million economic impact.
"We've seen hotels throughout downtown St. Pete just booking like crazy," executive director of St. Pete Pride, Eric Skains said. "A lot of them are sold out. The typical ones are already sold out and a few are booking up quickly that really normally don't."
Skains expects 250,000 people to attend this year's festivities.
There are more vendors this year than before- more than 360 exhibitors for Sunday's street festival that occurs on Central Ave. They've had to add a block to accommodate the growth.
Organizers have included an inaugural 5K race for Saturday morning.
Previous years have brought an estimated $10 million into the local economy.
