Your Real Stories is putting on the 2nd annual "Story Days in Tampa Bay" this week. It starts September 8th with events through September 12th.
Lillian Dunlap, co-founder of Your Real Stories, said "Our aim for story days is to have a lot of different ways for people to hear, tell and experience stories."
One of the stories is that of Jamaican-American Paula Madison and her search to find relatives of her long-lost Chinese grandfather, Samuel Lowe. Madison is a journalist and a former NBC Universal executive, who asked her family to help in the effort. She eventually connected with her Chinese family members and discovered a few of them live in Tampa.

The story of Madison's journey is documented in her film, "Finding Samuel Lowe." It will be shown as part of "Story Days in Tampa Bay" on Thursday at the St. Pete Museum of Fine Arts, and on Friday at USF School of Music Concert Hall in Tampa.
Other events include sessions with Digital media expert Andrew Thornhill on both sides of the bay. Dunlap said Thornhill "will be talking to people about how to develop their ideas, strategize and then how to get funding for their documentary, play or book you want to create." And, "The Stuff of Stories," writer's workshop presented by personal historian Paula Stahel.
