It's homecoming week at Pasco County's Wiregrass Ranch High School. Students were expected to come in costumes, such as Superman one day this week. Three of them came, they said, as ghosts. And nothing happened, that is until school authorities found more information on social media.
"Pictures came in from social media that showed two of the kids with pointed hoods on," said Pasco County School spokeswoman Linda Cobbe. Pointed white hoods, baggy white robes, they were dressed like the Ku Klux Klan, a group which has its roots in the U.S. Civil War era, and has advocated for white supremacy.
Cobbe said, "Probably there was no crime committed." And while she can't say how the students were punished, cases such as this are generally subject to one to ten days of "out of school" suspension.
