Many schools in the Tampa Bay area are just like residences -- no power.
That means none of the schools will be open Tuesday. Some will be closed even longer.
Schools throughout the region may be damaged. Some may have employees with homes that were damaged.
Hillsborough schools are closed through at least Tuesday. The district will make a decision wether to open on Wednesday or remain closed longer.
More than 40 Hillsborough schools were used as shelters and the shelters may need to remain open for displaced families.
