When it comes to the top online colleges in Florida, the University of South Florida came in fifth.
OnlineColleges’annual list of the best online colleges also broke them down bystate.
For Florida, USF’s Tampa campus ranked fifth, following top-ranked University of Florida, Saint Leo University, the University of Central Florida and Florida International University.
OnlineColleges’ rankings use the data from the National Center for Education Statistics’ Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System.
It takes into account the tuition, number of programs offered, retention and acceptance rate. The system takes the 14 points of interests and gives each school a score.
USF received a 96.88 rating, due to having the second lowest tuition and second largest total electronic library collections in among the top five schools. UF received a 99.6 with a 96 percent retention rate.
OnlineColleges also looked at other features that the colleges’ online programs provide like career counseling services, placement services, and life experience credit.
