The Florida Parent Teacher Association will be holding a statewide candlelight vigil for the victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting.
On Monday, multiple vigils will be held in the Tampa Bay area, including Hillsborough County at Curtis Hixon Park; Pasco County at Sims Park in New Port Richey, Land O’Lakes Recreational Complex Pavilion and Wesley Chapel District Park Pavilion; and Pinellas County at Tarpon Springs High School.
The vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., except for Tarpon Springs H.S., which starts at 6 p.m.
Ponce de Leon Elementary School in Clearwater held a vigil before school Monday.
Fourteen students and three staff members were killed during a mass shooting last Wednesday at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.
Former student, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, faces charges of seventeen counts of murder.
