Schools Reopening Across Tampa Bay Area After Eta

Here is a listing of schools that are reopening across the region.

Schools across the greater Tampa Bay region are announcing their reopening plans after Tropical Storm Eta hit Florida's West Coast.

Here's a summary of plans, as provided by school districts across the region (this list will be updated):

Hillsborough - Schools are closed on Thursday so some of the school buildings can be used as hurricane shelters. Students have transitioned to remote learning. As of Thursday morning, a similar plan is scheduled for Friday.

Pinellas - Pinellas County public schools are closed on Thursday. They will reopen Friday.

Pasco - Schools and all district offices are closed on Thursday. They will reopen Friday.

Hernando - Schools and district offices will be closed on Thursday. They will resume normal operations Friday.

Sarasota - Sarasota County Public Schools opened schools and district offices Thursday.

Manatee - Manatee County students shifted to eLearning for Thursday, but the district announced that on-campus, hybrid, and eLearning will take place Friday.

Hardee - Hardee County schools opened Thursday.

Polk - Polk County schools are closed Thursday, but will reopen Friday.

Citrus - Schools are closed on Thursday, with students shifted to e-learning. Schools will reopen Friday.

Highlands - No updates at this time

DeSoto - No updates at this time
