How Tampa Landed the Bollywood Oscars

The International Indian Film Academy's 15th annual awards takes place April 24-26 at various spots around the Tampa Bay area.

The event is held in a different country each year, and this is the first time the Bollywood Oscars will be held in the United States. It's expected to draw 800 million TV viewers from around the world.

This week on Florida Matters, a discussion of how Tampa landed the awards show with Santiago Corrada, president and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay; Janak Vora of the International Indian Film Academy; and Steve Persall, movie critic and reporter for the Tampa Bay Times. Hear Florida Matters on WUSF 89.7 FM at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
