Florida Matters: Tampa International CEO Joe Lopano

Big changes are coming to Tampa International Airport, and this week on Florida Matters (Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 23 at 7:30 a.m.), we’re bringing you a special newsmaker edition of the show with airport CEO Joe Lopano.

One of our burning questions: Is it TPA – or TIA? According to Lopano, it’s both.

Listen to our one-on-one conversation with Tampa International Airport CEO Joe Lopano.

In February, Airports Council International named Tampa International the second-best airport in the country, according to its annual Airport Service Quality Awards. We ask Lopano what the airport has done to earn that ranking.

We also discuss the expansion that’s under way, along with the airport’s competition, the effort to attract new airlines and customer dissatisfaction with the airline industry.
